literally who are we kidding i a) dont know what i want to study b) cannot afford college and c) have very average grades and i dont think my stellar extra curiculars make up for them as much as i would like them to
dont be afraid to take a year off to work or something. I did and I don’t regret it at all. if you take a year to work (while saving money for school) and figure stuff out a bit more what you like to do it could be helpful. i feel like the american school system pressures kids into going to college right away and to figure out so quickly what they want to do and then they make it seem like thats what you are going to be doing for the rest of your life. thats so not the case. when people finish university they realize that then have the rest of their fucking lives to live (like 70+ years). i would advise you to take your time to figure out what you want to do and what you are passionate about and then from there figure out how to get what you want. this for a lot of people means getting a degree. also remember there are soooo many options out there that you might not even know about. if you feel like you cant afford college or it doesnt seem like the right thing to do right now in life, you can do other things like join the peace corps or become an au pair or go backpacking or do an internship. the world is full of amazing things. find what tickles you and go get it :) you are young and have time!
